Royal Order of Kamehamea I.. Established by King Kamehameha V 4.4.1865 to commemorate
the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the kingdom, and became the senior Hawaiian order. The award of Knight Grand Cross was
bestowed on 40 occasions, 11 times to Hawaiian subjects and 29 times to foreigners. According to Grodon Metcalf (ref. 'Hawaiian Royal Orders',
Honolulu, 1962), the Collar was only awarded on two occasions, to Queen Victoria and the Japanese Emperor Mutsuhito, but in November
1991, Sotheby's (Geneva) auctioned a collar attributed to the French President, Jules Grévy, so it must have been awarded on at least
three occasions.
Royal Order of Kalakaua I.. According to Grodon Metcalf, the Knight Grand Cross
was awarded on 38 occasions.
Royal Order of Kapiolani.. According to Grodon Metcalf, the Knight Grand Cross
was awarded on 11 occasions.
