Service Medal 1917-1921 (An Bonn Seirbhise 1917-1921). Established in 1941 to
recompense active service during the War of Liberation. Given primarily to former combattants of the IRA.
Military Medal for Valour (An Bonn Mileata Calmachta). Established
in 1944 to recognize exceptional valour in non-offensive missions. Awarded to defense groups, almoners, and army nurses. 3 classes.
Medal of 1916 (An Bonn 1916). Estalbished in 1961 for members of the insurrection of
1916. Given primarily to former combattants of the IRA.
